Pioneer partner with Royal Belgian Cycling Federation
25 may 2016
Pioneer, manufacturer of advanced power meters, and the Royal Belgian Cycling Federation (KBWB-RLVB) cooperate in a four-year partnership. In modern cycling, the analysis of all kinds of parameters such as pedal efficiency, cadence and power become crucial for riders and trainers.
The Belgian Cycling Team will use the data recorded by the innovative power meters for the scientific development of the various activities and disciplines among youth and elite cycling.
Roel Schoondermark, European Cycle Business Manager at Pioneer:
"We are very pleased to announce that Pioneer and the Royal Belgian Cycling Federation enter a long-term partnership. For Pioneer, this agreement means the first cooperation with a national cycling federation. It is progressive that the data provided by our power meters will, among other things, be used to increase the pedaling efficiency of young riders."
Kevin De Weert, head coach confirmed Belgian Cycling Team:
"During my period as a rider of Team LottoNL-Jumbo, I got acquainted with the functionalities of the Pioneer power meter. Especially because of the pedal monitoring sensor, which measures the movement and forces on the left and right pedal separately, I see a lot of potential in the device to train our young riders to pedal properly. As a team we're going to get on to this to improve talented riders of our recently started climbing and time trial projects, as well as giving our mountain bikers and track cyclists the opportunity to get as soon as possible into touch with the benefits of this partnership.”
Jos Smets, director RLVB concludes:
"Our trainers and riders of the Belgian Cycling Team already followed a first information session of Pioneer on how to correctly interpret the data the device shows. Next, our trainers need to build on this information to develop specific instructions to improve the riders’ pedaling technique. We welcome Pioneer as a technical partner from 2016 and look forward to a long term partnership to improve permanently our performance among the various disciplines. "
The Dutch marketing group RSPNS connected the Belgian Cycling Federation with Pioneer.
